据悉，目前尚不清楚Google(谷歌)公司将通过互联网浏览器或者计算机桌面来推出这一软件。但是根据上周提前泄漏的这款软件的Mac版本，谷歌公司计划将这一软件整合到谷歌声讯服务 Google Voice。同时，从此前所泄漏的Mac版本来看，这款软件目前已经处于研发的高级阶段。

另一方面，谷歌公司此次计划推出的VoIP软件项目是以网络语音服务提供商Gizmo5所提供的技术为依托。Gizmo5是Skype的主要竞争对手，2009年11月份，谷歌公司完成了对Gizmo5的收购。

但是与此同时，Skype也在制定其业务的扩张计划，以应对竞争对手的追赶步伐。Skype认为，如果能够为其软件发布合适的软件开发工具包，那么各大设备生产商将能够顺利的将Skype的VoIP技术整合到整个系统之中。

Skype首席执行官席尔维曼（Josh Silverman）曾表示，根据Skype的计划，该公司在2011年将为1亿台个人电脑预装Skype网络语音服务系统。

就目前情况而言，谷歌公司与Skype相比在网络语音领域仍然有着较大的差距。目前，谷歌公司的 Google Voice 服务仅限于北美地区。

通过使用 Google Voice 服务，用户能够得到一个免费的固定电话号码，从而使其在美国及加拿大的接听及主叫通话服务都能够以免费方式进行。

很多资深 Google Voice 用户对谷歌关停国际短信的做法颇有微词。而谷歌官方对此解释为，“Google Voice 从来没有正式的支持过国际短信功能，虽然很多用户早就开始用这个功能。尽管如此，对于一些曾经支持国际短信功能的目的地国家，我们必须积极的阻止这个功能，直到我们可以对该功能进行收费。”

谷歌官方同时透露，“我们正在制定一个综合的国际短信费率，这项计划很快就会推出并且价格将会非常的低。请大家耐心等待。”

Google Voice 是由谷歌推出的一种电话服务，能够将个人所用的众多电话号码集中成为一个号码，同时提供许多加值服务，并且从2009年6月开始邀请一些志愿者参与实验。

基本上，Google Voice 的服务就是以一个谷歌提供给用户免费电话号码，或是自己付费指定的号码，来整合用户生活当中所有会接触到的电话，如家里、办公室、手机等。

Google 正在测试一个让 Gmail 聊天更实用的功能：用户将可以直接在 Gmail 的弹出对话框里拨打或接听 Google Voice 电话。Gmail 聊天窗口里会出现一个新的带数字键盘的电话窗口，在这里你还可以查找联系人、查询余额并直接接听或拨打电话。

现在官方只支持使用安装了 Google Voice 应用的手机拨打 Google Voice 电话（不过有不少第三方应用可以让你在电脑上拨打或接听 Google Voice 电话），如果整合进 Gmail 那显然会吸引更多的用户。今年4月 TechCrunch 曾经爆料说 Google 内部正在测试一个 Google Voice 的客户端，不过目前还没有任何发布的消息。

Gmail的肚儿是杂货铺儿，Google想强推什么就可以往Gmail里塞，好不自在……

谷歌在 Google Voice 官方网站上提供了短片说明：“当有人打电话给你，而且他们不必考虑该打家里的号码、办公室的号码，还是手机。而拥有谷歌号码的你，可以决定哪支电话该响。”

Google Voice 的前身实际是GrandCentral，去年被谷歌买下。Google Voice 保留了很多GrandCentral原有服务，当然还加入了一些新的功能。

2009年11月份的时候，Google收购了Gizmo5，它是一家与Skype竞争的网络电话服务商，提供P2P的网路电话呼叫服务，也提供固定电话（POTS）和手机的拨打和接听服务。Gizmo5填补了Google语音（Google Voice）产品的一些空白处，它尤其还提供一个呼叫终端。目前Google语音的用户需要给他们实际使用的手机分配一个Google语音的电话号才可以拨打和接听电话。

Google对于公司将如果应用Gizmo5的技术并没做任何评论。但是我们已经确认Gizmo5目前已经制作出了一款可以拨打和接听电话的Google语音桌面应用程序。从用户的角度来看，这款应用程序可以让 Google Voice 的用户直接从桌面电脑上拨打电话。

Line2 CEO Peter Sisson 说这是首款可以使用同一个号码通过WiFi和3G拨打/接听 Google Voice 和 Skype 电话的 iPhone 应用程序。就是说如果如果你在使用3G网络的时候接到了一个 Google Voice 或 Skype 来电，那么Line2会自动连接WiFi来接通电话（如果当前有可用WiFi连接的话），如果你边走边聊，离开了WiFi的覆盖范 围，那么Line2会自动切回3G网络，通话不会被切断。

不过由于iPhone不支持后台运行程序，所以你必须时刻保持Line2应用程序在开启状态才能通过WiFi来接听 Google Voice 或 Skype 来电。Line2说他们正在研究使用 iPhone 的通知系统解决这个问题，一旦你在Line2程序未开启时接到了一个 Google Voice 或 Skype 来电，那么会收到一个提醒通知，点击OK后就自动打开Line2应用程序接通这个电话。

Line2 应用程序免费，不过要用它的服务你需要每个月支付15美元，可以免费体验30天先。

本周 eweek 又透露今年登陆 Google 办公套件的除去 Google Wave 还会有 Google Voice。不过沙浪网期望的是，免费的标准版中也能看到这两个玩意。

Google 最近一直在调研如何将 Wave 的部分功能集成到他们其他的产品中，甚至就连 Google 企业应用总裁 Dave Girouard 都承认 Wave 的易理解程度和使用意愿与 Google Apps 的核心服务相去甚远。

也许 Google 将 Wave 推向 Apps 是为了让更多的人试用这项服务，并获取更多的改进 Wave 的意见。但是为什么不开放自由注册呢？虽然现在 Google Wave 的邀请已经白菜，但是还是有部分用户不知道该到哪里去找邀请的。

注：如果手机浏览器自动跳转到了google.cn，那么在页面更改一下地区设置成美国即可出现语音的链接。

跟在Gmail里群发邮件一样，你只要点击SMS按钮，在To输入框里输入多个人名即可，Google Voice 的自动完成系统会在 Google Contacts 里找到对应的人。

SMS: Sending SMS

There are several ways to send text messages from the Google Voice website.

To send SMS to a single recipient:

Send a quick SMS: Click the SMS button at the top left of the page, above the Inbox label. Enter the phone number, type your message, and click Send.

Reply by SMS to a voicemail or call: Click the SMS link near the bottom of the voicemail or call.

Reply to an SMS sent to your Google number: Click SMS below the SMS you received and type your text message. Then, click Send. You can also do this from your cell phone, but your mobile operator may charge you for this.

Send an SMS through your Contacts list: Click Contacts on the left side of the page. Select the checkbox next to the contact you’d like to send an SMS to, and click the sms link next to the appropriate number.

To send SMS to multiple recipients:

Send a quick SMS to up to five recipients at a time: Click the SMS button at the top left of the page, above the Inbox label. To send SMS to up to five recipients at a time, enter their phone numbers in the ‘To’ field and ensure that there is a comma separating each contact’s mobile number. Type your message, and click Send. When your recipients respond, their responses will be separate SMS items in your inbox and ‘SMS’ label.

Note that to prevent abuse, there are limits to the number of SMS you can send from Google Voice. If you’ve reached the limits, you will see a ‘Your message was not sent because the SMS limit was reached. Please try again later or try sending to fewer contacts.’ error and your SMS will not be sent. You will have to send to a fewer number of contacts per message or try sending your SMS at a later time.

使 iPhone 和 Palm Pre / Pixi 用户直接在浏览器里享受到 Google Voice（地址 http://m.google.com/voice），也也算是个无奈之举吧，尽管Google说未来是网页应用的天下，但他们也知道现在的本地应用用户体验依然是最好的。

这个移动网页版的 Google Voice 不仅可以直接拨号打电话，甚至可以发送短信，通过这个方式拨打的电话，对方看到的就是你的 Google Voice 号码而非电话本身的号码，当你的 Google Voice 收到语音留言时甚至可以在iPhone上弹出提示框，并显示出语音识别翻译后的文字。

整个网页应用基于HTML5技术，主要功能跟Google被Apple拒绝的本地应用差不多，唯一的区别就是你无法直接打开iPhone本机的联系人列表来拨号，不过你可以让自己的iPhone联系人跟 Google Contacts 同步，这样你就可以在网页应用里打开 Google Contacts 里的联系人列表来拨号了。

Google给广大被Apple拒绝的应用程序提供商们一个绕过Apple的方法（实际上之前VoiceCentral也制作了一个 Google Voice 的网页应用），而且据说整个网页应用操作起来非常流畅，这样做还有一个好处就是，你不必为不同手机制作不同的应用，比如现在这个网页版 Google Voice 应用就同时还支持 Palm Pre 和 Pixi 手机，因为他们的浏览器也支持HTML5。

Google Voice 的 Chrome 扩展升级到了第二版，加入了若干非常棒的新功能，用户甚至可以直接在 Chrome 中拨打电话。

安装新版 Google Voice 扩展后，页面上显示的部分电话号码会以链接形式出现，点击即可以通过 Google Voice 直接呼叫之。但是很奇怪的是另外有一部分号码无法识别，比如说有一个1-575的电话号码。

另外，用户也可以通过点击工具栏上的扩展图标并输入电话号码来拨打电话。
