New version of Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool released

Version 2.2 of the Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool has been released with over 17 new features added and improved functionality. This tool migrates email, contacts, calendar and group information from Lotus Notes to Google Apps.

Preview of new Google Documents editor available

A preview of the new Google Documents editor is now available on an opt-in basis.
- Key features: New ruler for margins and tab stops, floating image placement, new commenting structure in the document margin and instant messaging in the sidebar.
- Performance improvements: Documents now supports character-by-character real-time collaboration.

Standard, Premier, Education, Team and Partner Editions
Languages included:
All languages supported by Google Docs
How to access what’s new:
To allow users to opt-in to use the new editor, in the administrative control panel, administrators need to enable the checkbox ‘Enable pre-release features’ in ‘Domain Settings’. Users can then select the ‘New version of Google documents’ option in the ‘Documents settings’ area of Google Docs
Note: Starting on May 3rd, 2010 we’re temporarily phasing out support for offline access to Google Docs through Gears while we work on new and improved HTML5-based offline access. For more information on this, please visit the Help Center.

Preview of new Google Spreadsheets editor available

A preview of the new Google Spreadsheets editor is now available on an opt-in basis.
- Key features: Faster loading and scrolling of large spreadsheets, drag & drop columns, formula editing bar and formula highlighting, auto-complete, improved sheet navigation.
- Performance improvements: Improved speed of initial loading, scrolling, cell freezing, collaborative editing, and more.

All languages supported by Google Docs
How to access what’s new:
To allow users to opt-in to use the new editor, in the Admin Control Panel, administrators need to enable the checkbox ‘enable pre-release features’ in ‘Domain Settings’.
- When editing a spreadsheet, users will then see a ‘new version’ link on the top of any spreadsheet. Clicking on this link allows a user to opt-in to use the new editor.
- If users wish to opt-out again, click on ‘older version’ to use the older editor without affecting the spreadsheet.

Google Docs now has a collaborative drawings editor that makes it easy to build organizational charts, flow charts, design diagrams and much more.
- Share drawings just like any other Google Doc

How to access what’s new:
In Google Docs, click on ‘Create new’ to see the new option for ‘Drawing’ document type.
