很多资深 Google Voice 用户对谷歌关停国际短信的做法颇有微词。而谷歌官方对此解释为，“Google Voice 从来没有正式的支持过国际短信功能，虽然很多用户早就开始用这个功能。尽管如此，对于一些曾经支持国际短信功能的目的地国家，我们必须积极的阻止这个功能，直到我们可以对该功能进行收费。”

谷歌官方同时透露，“我们正在制定一个综合的国际短信费率，这项计划很快就会推出并且价格将会非常的低。请大家耐心等待。”

Google Voice 是由谷歌推出的一种电话服务，能够将个人所用的众多电话号码集中成为一个号码，同时提供许多加值服务，并且从2009年6月开始邀请一些志愿者参与实验。

基本上，Google Voice 的服务就是以一个谷歌提供给用户免费电话号码，或是自己付费指定的号码，来整合用户生活当中所有会接触到的电话，如家里、办公室、手机等。

Google 正在测试一个让 Gmail 聊天更实用的功能：用户将可以直接在 Gmail 的弹出对话框里拨打或接听 Google Voice 电话。Gmail 聊天窗口里会出现一个新的带数字键盘的电话窗口，在这里你还可以查找联系人、查询余额并直接接听或拨打电话。

现在官方只支持使用安装了 Google Voice 应用的手机拨打 Google Voice 电话（不过有不少第三方应用可以让你在电脑上拨打或接听 Google Voice 电话），如果整合进 Gmail 那显然会吸引更多的用户。今年4月 TechCrunch 曾经爆料说 Google 内部正在测试一个 Google Voice 的客户端，不过目前还没有任何发布的消息。

Gmail的肚儿是杂货铺儿，Google想强推什么就可以往Gmail里塞，好不自在……

谷歌在 Google Voice 官方网站上提供了短片说明：“当有人打电话给你，而且他们不必考虑该打家里的号码、办公室的号码，还是手机。而拥有谷歌号码的你，可以决定哪支电话该响。”

Google Voice 的前身实际是GrandCentral，去年被谷歌买下。Google Voice 保留了很多GrandCentral原有服务，当然还加入了一些新的功能。

Now in new Google spreadsheets editor: Range sorting and formula highlighting

New API released: Google Apps Audit API

The Google Apps Audit API allows Google Apps administrators to audit a user’s email, email drafts, and archived chats. In addition, a domain administrator can retrieve account login information and download a user’s mailbox.

Gmail now requires verification of forwarding addresses when using filters or autoforwarding

When setting up a new filter that forwards email or auto-forwarding email to a specific email address, you now need to also verify that you actually have permission to forward to that address. This is similar to verifying addresses for the ‘custom from’ feature.

There are exemptions to this change: Premier and Education edition users will not need to verify forwarding addresses that are:
- in their own domain
- in a subdomain of their own domain
- in a domain alias configured as part of the Google Apps account

How to access what’s new:
- Premier and Education Editions: If you are forwarding email to an address that does not come under the three categories above, then you will need to verify that address and a verification email will be sent to that address.

- Standard and Partner Editions: When setting up forwarding via a filter or autoforwarding, you will receive a verification email to the address that you are forwarding to.
Email lists: A user will have to verify that they have permission to forward to that list just like any other address and a verification email will be sent to the list. If the user has read access to the list, they’ll be able to get the confirmation code and verify the auto-forward address.

- Email Settings API: This API also allows forwarding to be configured. If the address being forwarded to does not need verification as outlined in the categories above, then this will work as expected. If the address requires verification and has not been verified, this setting will fail.

Google Wave (Labs) available for Google Apps

Google Wave is a new web application designed to make groups of people more productive when communicating and working together. In Google Wave, everything takes place in flexible, hosted conversations known as waves. Waves are shared spaces on the web that update live as you type and support rich media and real-time gadgets.
Today, Google Apps admins can give their users access to the Google Wave preview through Apps. Domain administrators can turn Google Wave through the control panel and users can sign in at http://wave.google.com/a/sancc.com.

How to access what’s new:
Administrators can enable Google Wave for your domain from the administrator control panel by clicking on ‘Add more services’.

To enable the preview of Google Wave:

A new look for Google Calendar

The Google Calendar interface has been given a new look. Some of the changes include a change to colors, less white space and the ‘Create event’ link is now a button. The link for ‘Tasks’ has also been removed and is now a calendar.

How to access what’s new:
- In order to see the new interface, in the administrator control panel under ‘Domain settings’, the ‘Enable pre-release features’ checkbox needs to be enabled.
- To turn Tasks on and off, just click the Tasks calendar in your calendar list. To only see tasks with due dates – the ones above your calendar – you can hide the task list by clicking the tall blue bar that separates the calendar from the task list on the right-hand side.

Gmail 开始支持拖拽图片到邮件了：继支持拖拽文件作为邮件附件发送之后，Gmail 现在开始支持拖拽图片。这个功能不存在于Labs里，直接就可启用，只要拖拽一个图片到邮件里，就成了，然后你还可以缩放图片到合适的大小，直接发送。

目前拖拽图片只支持Chrome浏览器，不过Google说他们很快将会支持其它浏览器。Gmail 网页应用又向桌面应用走近了一步。

Google周一宣布，为了给用户提供最大程度上的方便，Gmai英国用户的地址将由现在的 @googlemail.com再次更改为@gmail.com，Google将在接下来的几周里全面展开迁移工作。

此前由于注册商标的使用权问题，Google在英国无法提供@Gmail.com的邮件服务，而不得不退而求其次的使用@Googlemail.com提供邮件服务。

目前拥有@googlemail.com地址的英国居民如果需要的话可以自由保留这个地址。但是，谷歌很快将开始提供一个选择，最终转换到@gmail.com地址。这个转换将从本星期晚些时候开始。新的注册用户将得到一个 @gmail.com地址，而当前的用户将在下个星期得到进行转换的选择。

已经拥有Google邮箱账号的英国用户不久就会获得服务，选择将现有的@googlemail.com地址更改为@gmail.com，当然也可以选择继续使用@googlemail.com。

Drag and drop attachments: Instead of clicking on “Attach a file”, drag the file onto the compose window to attach the file. For now, drag and drop attachments works for Google Chrome and Firefox 3.6 only.

Calendar invitation: Compose a new message and click on the new link “Insert: Invitation”. Click on that link and a small window appears that displays your availability as well as that of the people you’re emailing provided you have permission to see their calendars. Click “Insert Invitation” and this adds a preview to your email message. Sending the message adds the event to your calendar and your friends’ calendars.

谷歌称一季度垃圾邮件数量增长6%

Google旗下的邮件过滤部门Postini表示，尽管安全研究人员做出各种努力减少垃圾邮件数量，但今年第一季度垃圾邮件数量仍然比去年同期增长了6%。

谷歌在其企业博客中表示，去年安全研究人员赢得了多场针对垃圾邮件的战斗胜利，但如果要继续赢得这场战争，他们必须改变策略。目前，垃圾邮件发布者通常利用僵尸网络来发布垃圾邮件，因为这种僵尸网络控制着多台感染了恶意软件的PC。

去年上半年，安全研究人员的重心主要是找到允许这些僵尸网络的指挥控制服务器运行的ISP（互联网服务提供商）或公司，然后将其关闭。然而，这种战术上的胜利只是暂时的，僵尸网络在一个月，甚至在几天之内即可找到新的ISP，并重新编写僵尸网络程序。

之后，安全研究将重心转移到这些僵尸网络的指挥控制服务器本身，以阻止僵尸网络接收新的指令。然而，此举同样未能大量减少垃圾邮件数量，因为垃圾邮件发布者会转而使用其它的僵尸网络来继续他们的活动。

在这些暂时性胜利的推动下，2010年第一季度的垃圾邮件数量比2009年第四季度减少了12%，但仍然高于2009年第一季度的水平。

谷歌表示，垃圾邮件数量同比增长的原因之一是僵尸网络在2009年下半年发布了更多的带有病毒的垃圾邮件，尤其是去年第四季度时曾出现一天发送1000万封病毒感染的垃圾邮件的情况。很多被这些病毒感染的电脑将被纳入僵尸网络之中。

Google并未指出安全研究人员下一步应当采取什么措施，不过安全技术公司趋势科技CTO（首席技术官）戴夫·兰德（Dave Rand）表示，既然打击ISP和僵尸网络起到的效果都很有限，那么下一步应当将目标指向那些组成僵尸网络的PC，阻止这些PC发送垃圾邮件的 TCP/IP端口，然后通知PC用户他们应当立即清理电脑。

* 用回退键即可删除自动填充的联系人

* 输入邮箱名字，再输入逗号，即可自动在后面填充@gmail.com

* 自动填充的联系人信息可点击，点击后可看到其全部联系信息，双击可移除

* 网页可充满整个屏幕，给你更多可视空间

不过在 iPhone 和 Android 都有不错的客户端应用的情况下，这些仅能支持 iPhone 和 Android 的高级功能不知道有多少人用呢？也许只在你借别人手机收发邮件的时候才会感到实用？

当 Google Buzz 发布时，移动版 Gmail 甚至在桌面版 Gmail 之前就将 Buzz 开放给所有用户了，可见 Google 对移动 Buzz 的重视程度。今天在移动 Gmail 里又多了一个针对 Buzz 的更新，当你的移动 Gmail 收件箱里出现了一个 Buzz 条目的时候，打开后你将看到与移动 Buzz 一样的界面，而非传统的 Gmail 邮件的样式，你可以使用与移动 Buzz 一样的功能，包括“喜欢/不喜欢”、发表评论 等等。

不过，该功能目前仅支持 Android 和 iPhone。

此前，Google VP Google Apps 的副总裁 Bradley Horowitz 在谈到 Google Buzz 的未来和 Gmail 的创新时表示，Buzz团队在Buzz上线内的48小时里完成了超乎想象的工作以解决最初的各种问题；Buzz的发布不只有Gmail和Buzz团队的体验，还包括所有的Google员工，他们对社交带来的机会的各种想法；我应该可以follow某个兴趣点而不是某个人，甚至是follow一个产品、一个地方、一个品牌。twitter只是做到了其中关注人的这一点；Google正在考虑如何不只提供一个开或关的选项，如果可以允许我一弹别人生活中某个部分的究竟，或者是过滤出的内容不是更好？Google强于排序和相关性，这是我们的核心竞争力之一，这也正是我们想带给这个领域的东西。

Gmail 一旦发现帐户异常活动会报告给你

现在 Google 为 Gmail 又增加了新的安全功能，如果它发现可能存在非法入侵，会在你下次登录 Gmail 的时候用醒目的文字提示你，在哪里可能有人非法入侵了你的帐户，点击“详细”还可查看详情，查看该帐户最近的活动情况。

如果你确定是被入侵了，可以立即修改密码。如果你知道是你远在他国的那个他（她）进入你的帐户看看你最近是否有不轨行为，那可以选择忽略。而在2008年，Gmail 添加了“允许你远程让入侵你帐户的人强制退出”的功能。

谷歌或推出非 Gmail捆绑版Buzz

两个月之前，Google 曾表示，可能单独推出社交服务 Google Buzz，但Buzz不会和 Gmail 完全分开，依然可以实现共享。Google 发言人维多利亚·卡察鲁 (Victoria Katsarou) 表示，除了现有的与 Gmail 捆绑在一起的Buzz，今后谷歌可能会推出独立的 Google Buzz 服务网站。

comScore数据显示，Gmail 目前在全球拥有1.765亿用户，仅次于微软和雅虎的邮件服务，排名第三。

很多热门话题的 Google Buzz 很容易就变成了大讨论帖子，有时新的评论来的很快，瞬间Buzz就变成参天大树了，特别当你好几天没看Buzz之后，Gmail 团队今天用折叠系统解决了这个问题。

以前，老评论有时会自动折起来，但新的评论（也就是在你最后一次阅读这条Buzz之后出现的新评论）总是会全部显示出来的。

而现在呢，如果新的评论太多了，新的评论也会自己折叠起来，比如：

* 如果有3个以上的新评论，他们会折叠成一个组
* 自从上次你阅读这个Buzz之后如果没有新的评论，之前的评论都会折叠起来，只会展开其中最新的一个评论，以帮助你回忆起它的内容
* 自从上次你阅读这个Buzz之后如果有很多新的评论，只有最新的2个评论不会被折叠起来，以便让你了解大家在评论什么，好决定是否展开更多的新评论查看
* 自从上次你阅读这个Buzz之后，老评论和新评论都很多的话，那都会折叠起来，你可以决定只展开哪些评论来查看

Google 产品经理解释为啥 Google Buzz 没经过太多内测就提前放出

在 SXSW 大会 “Gmail幕后” 的专题活动上，话题不只关注 Gmail 和 Google Apps，还包括最近在风口浪尖上的隐私问题不断的 Google Buzz。

Google 产品经理 Todd Jackson 说 Google 在这次 Buzz 的发布事故上学到了很多，尤其是他们以为所有用户都想将他们的邮件和聊天联系人都归入到社交圈里，并自动 follow 他们是个错误。要保证类似错误不再出现，Google 将来也许会先针对小部分用户推出 Google Buzz 的新功能看看反应再说。

那么为什么 Google Buzz 的发布却缺失了一些关键的社交功能呢？Jackson 说当 Google 员工内部测试这个产品的时候，他们从未想到过要 mute 掉任何同事的对话，他们的邮件联系人列表里的同事就是他们在 Buzz 里 follow 的人。很显然，对于那些不在 Google 工作的人来说他们并不需要这样的配置，所以 Google 后来紧急发布了一系列针对隐私保护的新功能。

在谈到 Google Buzz 的未来功能时，Jackson 说 Google 并不喜欢提前宣布新东西（真的吗？Chrome OS 提的够老前了），对于 Buzz 来说，主要会在用户隐私方面做出改变。

听 Jackson 的意思，估计 Google 内部对 Jackson 领导开发的 Google Buzz 在隐私方面捅出娄子也很不满。
